A lone traveller encounters an angel, who offers to grant him his deepest desires. As the traveler accepts, his path begins to shift in unexpected ways. Was what he desired ever actually out of reach, or had he simply failed to see it? Sometimes in life we forget the blessings we already have.

On its surface, ‘Ca(r)milla’ appears to be an excerpt from a documentary about the daily life of the owner of a small landscaping business in Carapichaima. However, the business is quickly revealed to be a front – the owner, played by the filmmaker’s mother, Camilla, is a hybrid of a vampire and a soucouyant with her true trade being the import/export of Caribbean soil throughout the region and its diasporas. ‘Ca(r)milla’ is a braided essay featuring the voices of both Camilla and Dr. Patricia Vincent, a disgraced vampirologist. 

‘Paid in Blue’ is a horror film rooted in pieces of Trinidad’s Blue Devil folklore. Keston, a young man at a Carnival fete, spends the night humiliating a stranger at the bar and driving his oldest friend, Dario, out of the party in disgust. Drunk and alone, Keston stumbles into the dark street, where a group of Blue Devils steps into his path and demands tribute. He laughs, throws a fistful of cheap coins at their feet, and shoves past them, ignoring an old woman’s warning to his detriment.

Chelsea, a young teacher, struggles with casual homophobic bullying in her classroom. When the principal dismisses her concerns as harmless “picong,” she turns to the students’ parents, only to face denial and deflection. The bullied student, nicknamed “Noodle,” quietly values her efforts, but Chelsea feels stuck. Seeking help, she reaches out to Marcus, who connects her with his father, now a passionate anti-bullying advocate. Together, they push the principal to allow a workshop that sparks a wave of creative, funny, and heartfelt initiatives by teachers across the school. 

In this buddy adventure comedy, two teenage village boys embark on an odyssey through the wilderness after promising to find the lost dog of a childhood crush. Along the way, they encounter a series of colourful characters each struggling to come to grips with the challenges of life in modern Trinidad. The pair’s eventful journey tests the bounds of their endurance, courage and loyalty to each other.
