Join us on 25 September, 2025, for Trinidad+Tobago Film Festival’s 2025 gala screening of ‘Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story’, directed by award-winning filmmaker Alison Duke. Share an unforgettable evening celebrating the music of Jamaican dancehall legend Sister Nancy, creator of the iconic anthem “Bam Bam”. The night begins with a cocktail reception at 6:30pm, followed by the screening at 7:30pm sharp at IMAX, One Woodbrook Place. After the film, there’ll be an engaging Q&A with the director, then rock up to our after-party from 10:00pm to 2:00am, featuring the best back-in-times reggae and dancehall tracks.

In ‘Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story’, Duke weaves together dynamic tour performances, rare archival footage, and candid interviews with stars such as Janelle Monáe, Young Guru, and Pete Rock to tell the story of Sister Nancy’s journey. Once denied the royalties and recognition she deserved, she persevered against the odds to become an internationally celebrated performer. Her music has transcended boundaries – resonating with reggae and hip-hop fans alike and captivating audiences across generations. The film is both a tribute to her enduring influence and a testament to the power of resilience, authenticity, and staying true to one’s art.

Tickets are on sale now with an early-bird price of $200 until 23 August. From 24 August, tickets will be $240. Secure your seat for this special night of music, film, and celebration at islandetickets.com.
