TTFF is:
Caribbean: We are a Caribbean festival; we are not trying to be anything else; we represent the best of Caribbean creativity, culture, storytelling and spirit while recognising the routes that have brought us to this moment.
Welcoming, approachable + inclusive: TTFF is a space for everyone who loves movies and who loves the Caribbean. We embrace people from all walks of life; everyone, regardless of where you’re from, what you look like or how you identify, is welcome. Whether you’re a filmmaker, a volunteer, an audience member or a sponsor, we see you and we value you.
Meaningful: This speaks to providing an impactful experience for both audiences and film professionals. This can be in terms of the calibre and nature of the film programming, the interaction that audiences have with film teams (and vice versa), the quality of the industry programme, the sense of community and inclusion that the festival fosters and the overall quality of the participant experience.
Collaborative: TTFF is about building networks of connection in all aspects of our work. We actively seek out and promote collaborative relationships with like-minded festivals and organisations both within the region and internationally, that will help to magnify the growth and visibility of the Caribbean film industry. Collaborative also speaks to creating + maintaining connections (networking/ socialising/ coming together/ creating opportunities for collaboration).
Local + global: Our view is global and local as we champion indigenous, region-specific storytelling. We are also outward-looking, aware of industry trends and in touch with industry leaders that can help to magnify our industry internationally. TTFF must be consistently visible and relevant, and considered an important niche festival on the international festival circuit.
