Yoel Morales is a Dominican film director and a member of the MENTES FRITAS collective, whose work spans music videos, feature films, and documentaries. His debut film, AZUL MAGIA, which blends Taíno folklore with elements of fantasy, was well received by critics and has garnered over 9 million views on YouTube. His second feature, LA BACHATA DE BIÓNICO – winner of the Audience Award at SXSW and an Official Selection at the Locarno Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival, among others – is a mockumentary that merges absurd or surreal fictional elements with raw, unfiltered reality.
