Katia Cafe-Febrissy is a Paris-born, Toronto-based Canadian filmmaker and theatremaker of Guadeloupean descent. Having lived in five countries and speaking four languages, she draws on her experience as an Afro-francophone woman to create work linking the intimate to the collective. With seven short films and a solo theatre piece to her name, she recently produced, wrote and directed her debut feature, the auteur documentary INDIVISUM: Legacies Adrift, a Telefilm Canada Talent to Watch recipient that premiered at Hot Docs 2026.
Katia is the founder and president of KaFé Productions inc., a boutique production company dedicated to centering Afro-diasporic and marginalized voices through audacious, poetic and deeply personal storytelling. Her multidisciplinary practice moves between film and theatre, using intimate stories to explore questions of belonging, identity and the legacies we inherit.
