Jason-Marc Mohamed is a wildlife filmmaker and conservationist whose work bridges science, storytelling, and environmental advocacy. Raised in Trinidad and Tobago, his early exposure to the region’s rich biodiversity helped shape both his visual style and his approach to storytelling. Early on, he picked up a camera and began exploring photography, developing a keen eye for composition, light, and visual narrative in natural environments. He achieved an undergraduate degree in geology in California and went on to work for several years as an environmental specialist. During this time, he developed hands-on experience in environmental management and conservation, further strengthening his commitment to protecting natural ecosystems.Driven to combine science with visual storytelling, Jason-Marc later completed a master’s degree in wildlife filmmaking at the University of the West of England in partnership with the BBC Natural History Unit. This training launched his career in high-end natural history production, where he has contributed to major landmark wildlife series for global platforms including the BBC, Apple TV+, and National Geographic. As a director,Jason-Marc’s film ‘Spectral’ was created in collaboration with the European Research Council. The film reflects his commitment to exploring lesser-known species and advancing public understanding of cutting-edge scientific research. Through his work, Jason-Marc Mohamed continues to highlight the complexity and wonder of the natural world while advocating for its protection.
