To mark TTFF’s 20th anniversary, we’re releasing a brand new limited-edition print – created exclusively for us by Barbadian artist Sheena Rose.
Entitled ‘Being lovely’, this print is restricted to just 10 signed copies, offering collectors a rare opportunity to own an original work by one of the Caribbean’s most celebrated contemporary artists – and a 2026 laureate of the Anthony N. Sabga Caribbean Awards for Excellence in Arts & Letters. This marks Rose’s second collaboration with TTFF – she previously served as festival artist for TTFF/21.
With an edition this small, each print carries significant scarcity value. And as Rose’s international profile continues to grow – with exhibitions from the UK’s Turner Contemporary to the Perez Art Museum Miami – early collectors are well positioned to see that value appreciate over time.
Beyond its investment potential, this print is a direct, tangible way to support TTFF/26 – our landmark 20th anniversary edition – helping ensure Trinidad and Tobago’s platform for Caribbean cinema continues to be a cultural driver and touchpoint for Caribbean film.
The idea of a limited-edition fundraising print is itself part of TTFF’s history. It dates back to 2008, when the festival launched its first fundraising edition with a print by acclaimed artist Peter Doig, and went on to work with artists Christopher Cozier and Eddie Bowen on subsequent editions. That initial print collaboration with Doig signalled the festival’s commitment to visioning the Caribbean through the visual arts, as well as through film – a through line in our approach to seeing and representing ourselves that continues today. In the intervening years, TTFF has worked with many of the region’s most significant artists, including Abigail Hadeed, Che Lovelace and Rodell Warner. ‘Being lovely’ continues that tradition for our 20th anniversary.
That commitment extends to TTFF’s New Media programming strand, which has long spotlighted Caribbean artists working in film, video and VR – from Olivia McGilchrist and David Gumbs’s early interactive and virtual reality works, to Di-Andre Caprice Davis’s 2019 turn as festival artist, to Rodell Warner’s photography and animation as 2025 festival artist. ‘Being lovely’ sits within this same continuum of spotlighting the region’s practising artists.

About Sheena
Sheena Rose is a contemporary Caribbean multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Barbados, and a Fulbright scholar who holds a BFA Honours degree from Barbados Community College (2008) and an MFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2016). Her varied practice encompasses painting, drawing, performance art, new media, and mixed media.
She has participated in the Havana Biennial, Venice Biennale, Gwangju Biennale, and Jamaica Biennial, and her work has been exhibited at institutions including MoCADA, the Queens Museum, KMAC Museum, Turner Contemporary, and the Perez Art Museum Miami. Her public art projects include bus shelter designs in Des Moines, Iowa, and a two-storey mural at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C., which also holds three of her paintings in its permanent collection.
In February 2026, Rose was named a laureate of the Anthony N. Sabga Caribbean Awards for Excellence in the Arts & Letters category. Programme director Maria Superville-Nelson described Rose as a painter, muralist, and performance artist who challenges classism, racism, and colourism through art.
