TTFF Partners with UWI to Launch Summer Arts Management Internship

TTFF Partners with UWI to Launch Summer Arts Management Internship

by | Jun 1, 2026 | Festival News

Trinidad+Tobago Film Festival (TTFF) is pleased to announce a formal partnership with the University of the West Indies (UWI) Faculty of Humanities and Education to deliver the Summer Arts Management Internship – a new, practice-based placement for tertiary-level students seeking to enter the screen and cultural industries.

The internship offers up to four students immersive, hands-on experience of how a major film festival is planned and delivered. Running from July through to the festival period in September, interns will work directly alongside TTFF’s administrative team on communications, logistics, and planning – contributing meaningfully to a live cultural event rather than observing from the sidelines.

The programme is one of two initiatives being developed in partnership with UWI for 2026, alongside the Festival Immersion Programme, which will see up to 15 UWI students participate in TTFF/26 as structured, guided delegates in September.

The partnership responds to a shared concern about the lack of clear career pathways for graduates in Trinidad and Tobago’s screen and creative industries. Both organisations are committed to building a pipeline of festival-literate, industry-ready cultural workers – ensuring that talented young people graduating from the Faculty of Humanities and Education have the practical experience and professional networks to build sustained careers.

Applications for the Summer Arts Management Internship will open in early June, with successful applicants notified by the end of June. The programme is open to tertiary-level students from across the Faculty of Humanities and Education with an interest in arts administration and cultural project management.

More details on eligibility and how to apply will be announced shortly.
