Céline Bernabe (Author, Screenwriter, Director, Producer)
Born in 1985 in Argenteuil, Paris region, Céline Bernabe is originally from Martinique. She has been living and thriving artistically in Guadeloupe for 16 years.
Her first film, “Je ne suis pas Elle, je suis l’Autre” (I’m Not Her, I’m the Other), in which she also plays the main character, is inspired by her plate “Coucou!”, published in 2021. Céline Bernabe is also a multifaceted artist: visual artist, poet, author, playwright, contemporary art performer, and more.
Her artistic journey began at the age of 6 when her parents enrolled her in the Argenteuil conservatory (piano, singing). She discovered a passion for theater at 13, dance around 15, abstract painting at 20, poetic writing and photography at 30, and music composition, screenplay writing, and film directing at 38. She has developed her techniques autodidactically through her research and experiences. In her works, she explores various themes such as body language, pain, and love.
