Pamela Bencosme, born in 2002 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, is an emerging filmmaker who recently completed her studies at the Altos de Chavón School. Her cinematographic work, produced in the last year, explores profound themes such as interpersonal relationships, absences, and contemporary sociopolitical issues in the Dominican Republic. Through an approach that approaches a form of truth cinema, Bencosme investigates the infinite possibilities to capture the human experience. Throughout her career, she has participated in the realization of various student projects, among which stand out: Alta Gama (Documentary, 2022), Conexión 5G (Experimental 16mm, 2023), La pulguita de mamá (Documentary, 2023), Nada pasará y todo influencia (Animation, 2023) and Río de Cristal (2023), the latter selected for presentation at the “UFFEST” short film festival at Unibe University. Her most recent work, Depeyize (2024), is a milestone thesis in her career, consolidating her ability to intertwine narrative and technique in a deep exploration of reality and cultural identity. This project not only reflects her artistic evolution, but has also been acclaimed for its ability to capture the essence of the human experience in a unique and moving way.
