Fragmented
In Bauta, a group of professional dancers revisit the history of the Afro-Cuban community through the mythical figure of Legba, the guardian of the roads, the mediating spirit between the world of humans and that of the gods. Originally from the kingdom of Dahomey, which crossed the Atlantic at the same time as African captives enslaved in the sugar cane fields of America, Legba will guide these bodies-machines, these racialized, dehumanized, disoriented bodies towards emancipation, while turning the Christian narrative on its head.
