Berette S Macaulay is an interdisciplinary artist, curator, and writer whose work interrogates the liminal points of va – “in-betweenness” – a personal existence of multiplicity, and the ancestral and cultural negotiations of a creolized identity. This shapeshifting embodiment is present in her family history, the neocolonial geographies she occupies, and in her chosen practices. Her work utilizes research and intuition, which serve her experimental methods in her photography, video, performance, poetry, mask and sculptural practices.
