Oliver Milne is a Trinidadian filmmaker whose work explores the space between tradition and modernity, often blending analogue techniques with contemporary storytelling. His love for film began early with Jurassic Park, The Lion King, and The Lord of the Rings, and by his teens, he was already making short films. Two of his early works were screened at the first Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival in 2006. He later graduated with honours from Vancouver Film School in 2009 before returning home to work in the commercial and music video space. Oliver has directed award-winning campaigns for brands like KFC, Courts, Flow, Angostura, and Bmobile – including No Words (2014), which won Best of Show and Best Director at the Caribbean ADDYs. His music video work includes projects for Kes (Savannah Grass, Magic), Bunji Garlin (Carry It), and Freetown Collective (Born in Darkness). His short film Salty Dog (2017) won the People’s Choice Award at TTFF and screened in Havana and Martinique. His 2024 documentary Trinitario – On the Edge won Best Doc at ALTFF in Toronto, and along with his latest short, Not Now, Never Now, is currently on the festival circuit.
