Since 2003 Studiofilmclub—founded by artists Peter Doig and Che Lovelace—has been showing independent, foreign-language and arthouse films at the Fernandes Industrial Centre in east Port of Spain. Almost from the beginning Doig has been creating posters for the films that screen at SFC, and these works of art have slowly garnered almost as much attention as the film screenings themselves.
This year the ttff—of which SFC is a programme partner—will be hosting an exhibition of SFC posters, co-curated by Peter Doig and Nadya Shah, at the ttff offices, 199 Belmont Circular Road, Belmont. The exhibition is free and runs for the duration of the Festival, from 21 September–04 October, 10am-3pm, exclusive of Sundays.
