After completing a master’s degree in journalism at the University of Brussels, Thibaut Monnier worked as a reporter for local TV stations in Belgium. He trained in editing in the film company ‘Four Corners’ in The Netherlands. In 2013, he was hired as a visual communications officer by the United Nations Development Program in Haiti. He developed the visual identity of the organisation by producing video/photo reports of projects in the field. He won the 1st innovation prize awarded by the United Nations for reports highlighting the impact of innovative projects on the ground. Shocked by the repeated failures of the UN in Haiti, he quit the UN at the end of 2015 to share this experience by making his first movie, ‘Wozo’.
