Their Story: Panerrifix Steelband

“Their Story: Panerrifix Steelband” highlights the power of music and how it has been transforming the lives of the members of the Panerrifix Steelband. Panerrifix hails from the city of Belmopan, Cayo District in Belize, Central America. The main thrust of the band is to expose its members to music and the music of the world, and to expose them to the world through music. The band boasts a wide repertoire of Belizean music, such as Brukdown and Paranda, as well as regional and international styles in the likes of Soca, Calypso, Reggae and Classical genres.

Julietta Burrowes-Lewis

Julietta Burrowes-Lewis

Julietta Burrowes-Lewis is the director of the Panerrifix Steelband which hails from the capital City of Belmopan, Belize. She is a classical pianist, holds a first degree in Music Education, and teaches music at a local high school. She founded the school based Panerrifix Steelband fifteen years ago. The Panerrifix Steelband performs extensively throughout Belize as well as internationally with Julietta as its leader. She arranges music for the band, organises concerts, and coordinates workshops and training for band members with regional pan arrangers and pan makers. Julietta is the proud daughter of Belize’s most prominent baritone singer, the late Ted Burrowes Sr. 

Joel Evans

Joel Evans is a renowned video producer with a deep desire to add cinematic storytelling to his productions. He graduated with a BSc from Middle Tennessee State University majoring in television production, and since 2007 has been steadfast at going that extra mile to ensure each he works on project satisfies both his client, but also his personal standards.
