The Moon Child

Ara, a young, bedridden girl, is trapped in her room. The nights are easier for her as the moon gives her comfort and revives her. One night a lunar visitor helps her transcend her physical bonds and find the answers she so desperately needs.

Sanna Allsopp is an award-winning British/ Barbadian producer, director and anthropologist. A documentary filmmaker Sanna began her film career at the age of 22 and is recognised for her experience in handling challenging or sensitive subjects such as her work for UNICEF, the BBC and Channel 4. Sanna has been producing award-winning campaigns in fashion, commercials, music videos and film over the last 10 years, through Parachute Film Studios in Barbados. ‘The moon child’ is Sanna’s drama and writing directorial debut; it won best experimental film at the LA International Short Film Festival, making it the first Caribbean film to ever win at the festival, as well as winning the prestigious Jean Rouch award for the American Society for Visual Anthropology. Sanna is currently developing ‘The Bajan detective’, a streaming series.
