Elizabeth Cadiz Topp and Alex de Verteuil

Elizabeth Cadiz Topp has worked in close collaboration with Trinidadian filmmaker Alex de Verteuil since 2002, where she has written and co-directed a series of documentaries inclusive of ’70: Remembering a Revolution (2010), which won the Best Feature Documentary at the ttff/11.

Alex de Verteuil has been producing documentary programmes on local issues, mostly h conservation and the environment, for the past 25 years. He has several award-winning programmes to his credit including Wild T&T,  which won the EMA Greenleaf award for 2005 and JAB, The Blue Devils of Paramin which has been shown in film festivals in Europe, Scandinavia, North America, and Latin America. In 2011, ’70 Remembering a Revolution which he co-directed with Elizabeth Topp received the award for best local documentary at ttff and has also had wide international distribution.
