Sorrow’s Kitchen

Sorrow’s Kitchen begins with a sleep deprived creative (Sid), who slips in and out of the same dream over and over again, until he’s unable to differentiate between what is “reality” and what is the “dream”. The concept of the dream being and the blurring of reality portray what it means to the child of the diaspora to have a connection with his ancestors, who speak to him, watch over him and guide him. As real as if they were flesh and blood. The conflict Sid feels about the uncertainty of his dreams mirrors the block, the cultural disconnect, many children of the diaspora experience.
