Once upon a time… there was a young girl whose kindness was matched only by her beauty. She lived in the Mortenol district of Pointe-à-Pitre with her mother. She had a strong bond with her grandmother who lived far from the city, in the remote depths of Abymes. As she gets ready to parade in the Carnival, adorned with a red satin riding hood, Rèd receives a call from her grandmother, who insists on giving her a magical object before her first parade. Night is about to fall, the road to the remote depths is long, and Pointe-à-Pitre is full of dangers. However, Rèd sets off without delay…

Fabienne Orain Chomaud

Born in Rennes, Fabienne Orain Chomaud moved to Guadeloupe in 1986 and first worked as an assistant director and production assistant. Trained in sound recording, she was also a boom operator on other films.

When she returned to Paris, she joined the Walt Disney Company and was quickly appointed head of live action dubbing for Buena Vista Dubbing Production and Disney feature films. Fabienne Orain Chomaud creates audiovisual dubbing companies and directs, for years, the French versions of more than 220 feature films for the Walt Disney Company, Warner, Colombia, UIP, Océan films, Pyramide, BAC films, MGM, Canal+ , UGC and some independent distributors.

In 2004, she created the Festival des Enfants Réalisateurs, before returning permanently to Guadeloupe the following year.
She is also a member of Ateliers Varan, in which she first participated as a trainee. Today, she is the one who works as a trainer in schools and integration projects.

Fabienne Orain Chomaud writes and directs short films (“Nightmare Before Wedding” and “RèD”), medium-length documentaries (“Musiciennes en Guadeloupe,” “Ciné Woulé, a Road Movie”), and a documentary series on gardens and Creole cuisine.

RèD is her second narrative short film.
