Oya

When 17 year old Oya becomes the victim of her vile father, the traumatic experience takes her on a rollercoaster ride of discovery about the people closest to her. Oya tries to reach out to her mother and brother for help, but they choose ignorance when faced with the unpleasant truth. Whilst Oya struggles to find a way out, an unexpected path emerges.

Hira Hosein

Hira Hosein is a Pakistani-Trinidadian producer and director. Having worked in television and film for over a decade, she went back to the basics and has recently graduated from the University of the West Indies film programme. Hira has worked with some of the biggest productions coming out of Pakistan, including two feature films, over a dozen series and a few format shows. She has also worked in collaboration with Zee Zindagi (India) on projects meant to bring the artists of the Indo-Pak region together.

Ais Rutherford is a new filmmaker who recently graduated from the University of the West Indies film programme. He also has a background in visual arts. He aspires to tell his nation’s stories, starting with those about the average trinbagonian. He believes everyone has a unique and interesting story – it’s all about perspective and how that story is told.
