Nicola Cross is an artist filmmaker who specialises in assisting individuals to convey their own narratives through a creative and aesthetically pleasing approach.
Her innate qualities as an observer have guided her along her journey, allowing her to pursue her passion with dedication. This path led her to a decade-long career as an ecologist and development practitioner, providing her with a solid grounding in the utilization of participatory methods and gender analysis, both of which significantly influence her filmmaking.
Over the past decade, she has been actively engaged in the documentation of social issues, with a particular focus on those pertaining to women. Her filmmaking centers on crafting intimate portrayals of individuals, including those who may often go unnoticed or marginalized, exemplified by her work in “Visibly Me.” Through her art, she pays tribute to the remarkable courage and resilience of the storytellers with whom she collaborates.
