Murder in Pacot

After the 2010 earthquake in Port-au-Prince, a bourgeois couple struggles to rebuild a life amid the rubble of their luxurious home. Needing money, they decide to rent the habitable part of their villa to Alex, a French aid worker. He brings with him Andrémise, a poor but ambitious Haitian girl. The couple, strained by the loss of their social position, their ideals and their dreams, must face up to this unwelcome intrusion.

Haiti-born Raoul Peck grew up in Congo, France, Germany and the United States. He received a degree in Engineering Economics before attending the Academy of Film and Television in Berlin. Since then he has made several acclaimed narrative features, including The Man by the Shore (1993, ttff/15), Lumumba (2000), and Moloch Tropical (ttff/10). His documentaries include Fatal Assistance (ttff/13). Murder in Pacot (ttff/15) is his most recent film. Peck is a former Minister of Culture of Haiti
