Lalo’s House

Eleven-year-old Manouchka and her younger sister Phara are on their way to school when they are kidnapped. They awake in a girl’s orphanage surrounded by nuns but this is no safe place. Tortured, starved and forced to perform unspeakable acts, Manouchka will do all she can to save her little sister’s innocence.

Kelley Kali, a Howard University & USC School of Cinematic Arts Alum. She has produced and directed award-winning films in Belize, Haiti, China, and locally in the USA. She was fortunate to have her more recent film, Lalo’s House, win the Programmers’ Award at the Oscar Qualifying Pan African Film Festival. Kelley was also featured at the 2018 American Black Film Festival in the Emerging Directors category and is a Finalist in the 45th Annual Student Academy Awards.
