Conte pour Elle (Tale for Her)

Distraught by the death of her grandmother, Céleste, a thirty-year-old woman of Caribbean descent, finally seeks to understand why she is unable to hold her daughter in her arms. Assisted by both visible and invisible guides, Céleste will uncover that in order to forge a connection with her child, she must unburden herself from a history that isn’t entirely her own…

A graduate of the European Conservatory of Audiovisual Writing (screenwriting), Florence Combaluzier has has notably contributed her writing talents to television series such as: “Joséphine Ange Gardien”, “Plus belle la vie”, “Champions de France”, “César et Capucine” and “Villa Karayib.” She has also brought two theater plays to life: “La Brioche au Sucre” and “Miroir Citoyen.” In addition to her writing pursuits, Florence served as the 1st assistant director for France TV on the landmark documentary trilogy “Noirs of France” (directed by Juan Gélas and Pascal Blanchard).

Furthermore, Florence co-wrote four episodes of “Tropiques Criminels,” a detective series for France 2 shot in Martinique, her mother’s native island where she grew up and where she has been residing again for 4 years. Currently, she is co-writing a historical series with historian Pascal Blanchard. In addition, she is also working on a personal project—a musical and social series “West Indies Story” and a feature film centered on Haiti.
