Casa Blanca

Nelsa, 76, and her son Vladimir, 37, who has Down syndrome, share a tiny room in an apartment building in Havana. Vladimir is the only one to care for Nelsa; Nelsa is the only person to watch over Vladimir. Every day Nelsa wanders the streets in search of her only child, who prefers to play cards and drink rum with the local men rather than spend time with his mother. When Nelsa falls gravely ill and goes to hospital, Vladimir is left in a precarious position.
