Bruno, a young fisherman struggles against the deadly pesticide chlordecone and the invasion of sargasso. He is determined to live his passion and make it as a fisherman in Guadeloupe in spite of his wife’s doubts and the bleak perspective of reconversion offered by the government.

Mariette Monpierre has a Master’s degree from the Sorbonne University & Smith College.Her portfolio includes commercials, music videos, documentaries & fiction narrative. Her first feature length Elza (Le Bonheur d’Elza) won several awards including the 2012 BAFTA Choice Award and The Jury Award for Best Director First Feature at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles; and  the Paul Robeson Award at FESPACO’13.
