Jamal Edwards, 30, lives a less than ideal life in the busy city of Port of Spain. He is forced to go back to his dilapidated childhood home in Freeport, where his younger brother Joseph still lives. Jamal reluctantly begins renovating the old house, only to be plagued by the memories of his abusive childhood and the broken relationship he has with his brother.

Jian Hennings

Jian Hennings has a BA in film production from the University of the West Indies, St Augustine. He has produced several short films, which reflect various aspects of T+T’s cultural and geographic makeup. His first feature film, Back to Freeport, which he co-directed with Kyle Sahadeo, is being screened at the ttff/17.

Kyle Sahadeo

Kyle Sahadeo has a BA in film production from the University of the West Indies, St Augustine. He has a passion for writing and directing stories that reflect the unique lives of the people of T+T. He has produced a number of short films and documentaries, with Back to Freeport being his debut feature-length film, which he co-directed with Jian Hennings.
