A Writer in His Place presents Trinidadian novelist Earl Lovelace as a writer rooted in his Caribbean space and inspired by the people and cultures of the region. In this “docu-commentary”, Lovelace emerges as a writer who is driven by a passion for life, and a love and respect for ordinary people.

Funso Aiyejina

Funso Aiyejina is a prizewinning poet and short story writer. He is also a playwright and a widely published literary and cultural critic. He is Professor of Literatures in English at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. A Writer in His Place (2014) is his first documentary.
