SUMMARY:FREE UP
DESCRIPTION:Play isn’t an escape – it’s how you fight back\, stitch joy into the cracks\, and turn survival into style. Skating\, bubbling\, strutting\, remembering\, each act a form of improvisation\, a claim to space\, a refusal to vanish. From carnival queens to shuttered community centers\, this is play as pulse\, protest\, and possibility.

SUMMARY:Crossroads: Caribbean Shorts for Families
DESCRIPTION:Talisman the goat\nThis is the story of Talisman\, a very unusual goat\, who leaves his home on Goat Island to go in search of fresh water. He traverses extraordinary landscapes to finally arrive at Fresh Water Cave. There he encounters Alcos. But who is Alcos? \nThe Hip Hops\nA story of disability and inclusion from the point of view of a child\, based on the filmmaker’s own life. \nSmile \n“Smile” (shot on a One Plus 6 phone) is a haunting and beautifully crafted stop-motion short film that explores the hidden pain people often mask with a smile. Through striking visuals and without the use of dialogue\, the film uses light and shadow to contrast moments of forced joy with the darkness of internal struggle. Each frame is carefully animated to convey emotion\, creating a powerful narrative that speaks directly to the heart. As the story unfolds\, it becomes clear that the character’s smile is not a reflection of happiness\, but a shield—one that slowly fades as unspoken pain consumes from within. The film reminds us that behind even the brightest expressions\, there can be deep suffering.  “Smile” is more than just a visual experience; it’s a quiet call for empathy. It urges us to look deeper\, to listen more\, and to always choose kindness—because everyone is fighting battles that are often invisible to the world. \nCharlotteville Tails \nIn Tobago\, where beauty and suffering sometimes go hand in hand\, three children from the fishing village of Charlotteville embark upon a mission to help dogs in need. Through their simple actions and voices\, Emily\, Kaija and Zakii bring hope\, delivering a powerful and urgent message on behalf of animals. \n🎟️Tickets available here

\nLittle Moko\nDue to the global pandemic\, Trinidad and Tobago had to cancel “the greatest show on Earth”. In 2021 we had no Carnival\, but culture can’t be canceled. Featuring music by Freetown Collective\, “Little Moko” follows Adianka’s journey to learn the art of stilt-walking. \nEvangeline \nInspired by Trinidadian folklore and the haunting character of the Douen\, this experimental short film follows a wire figurine named Evangeline—based on the artist’s goddaughter—as she finds herself lost in a mysterious forest. Rooted in wire-bending\, a traditional Trinidadian art form associated with carnival\, the film brings this local legend to life through a distinctly Caribbean lens. With an “if you know\, you know” approach\, the film intentionally leaves much unsaid. The story is meant to be understood immediately by Trinidadians and those who know of the folklore\, while others may have to dig deeper to uncover the story alluded to within this piece. Evangeline finds herself lost in the forest and encounters a Douen.. \nGods of the Universe \nAdvanced beings must train star children to guide humanity to the next stage of evolution before a catastrophic event destroys Earth\, but their methods differ and time is running out. \nSmile \n“Smile” (shot on a One Plus 6 phone) is a haunting and beautifully crafted stop-motion short film that explores the hidden pain people often mask with a smile.
